A natural gas vehicle (NGV) is an alternative fuel vehicle that uses compressed natural gas (CNG) as a cleaner alternative to other fossil fuels.

The Elk River Public Utility District is committed to providing natural gas and related services to our customers throughout Coffee and Franklin counties. Natural gas vehicle fuel can enable the US to become more energy independent. Natural gas is a readily available answer to rising gasoline and diesel costs while providing for a cleaner environment. Natural gas is safe, clean, dependable, environmentally friendly, naturally occurring, abundant, domestically produced and economical.

The District currently has several Ford dual-fuel trucks, one dual-fuel Ford Transit van and two Honda Civic dedicated CNG vehicles. The District's vehicles are fueled by a CNG fueling station located behind our Tullahoma office.
